A true Himalayan adventure of mystery, struggle, and discovery.” Our Himalayan journey began from Kishtwar, driving through Gulabgarh and reaching the remote Sohal village. From here, our trek started via Kaban village. The plan was clear: cross the mystical Hangu Lake, climb the high-altitude Kaban La Pass, descend through Darlang Nala, and finally reach Zanskar via the legendary Munila Pass. But the mountains had other plans. After crossing Hangu Lake, we lost our trail. Instead of finding Kaban La, we mistakenly climbed to 5,225 meters — where we unexpectedly discovered the forgotten Agyasol Base Camp. This hidden place carries a rare piece of history, where the last recorded Agyasol expeditions took place in 1980 and 1981. What was supposed to be a direct route into Zanskar turned into a journey of struggle, survival, and discovery. The Kishtwar Himalayas are known as the ‘Land of Mystery’ — untouched valleys, dangerous glaciers, and forgotten trails where adventure meets fear. Our story is not just about trekking; it’s about how the Himalayas reveal their secrets only to those who dare to lose their way.
