Il volo di notte permette di vedere le luci delle città, quelle iraniane e quelle irachene, tristemente famose nel ricordo dei nostri militari uccisi. La fase finale del volo attraversa il Golfo Persico con lo Stretto di Hormuz dove un numero incredibile di lucine danno l'idea delle petroliere in attesa di attraversare questo braccio di mare, snodo importantissimo per l'esportazione del petrolio. Segue Dubai con le sue luci e le isole artificiali a forma di palma e si procede verso Muscat per l'avvicinamento. Avevo studiato le carte delle piste dell'aeroporto e quando l'aereo ha virato a sinistra ho capito che l'avvicinamento sarebbe avvenuto dal mare, allontanandoci dalla costa, poi una virata di allineamento a destra ed ecco la discesa verso il nostro aeroporto di destinazione. Un volo meraviglioso e tranquillo, già quell'anno si parlava di un possibile attacco all'Iran, cosa poi avvenuta nel giugno del 2025. After flying east over Turkey, near Van, the plane turns right toward Iran, crossing the entire country diagonally. The night flight allows you to see the city lights, both Iranian and Iraqi, sadly famous in memory of our fallen soldiers. The final phase of the flight crosses the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz, where an incredible number of lights suggest tankers waiting to cross this strait, a crucial hub for oil exports. Next comes Dubai, with its lights and palm-shaped artificial islands, before proceeding to Muscat for the approach. I had studied the airport's runway maps, and when the plane turned left, I realized the approach would be from the sea, away from the coast. Then, a right-aligning turn, and then the descent toward our destination airport. A wonderful, uneventful flight. Even that year, there was talk of a possible attack on Iran, which actually occurred in June 2025.
