Alright, my amazing viewers! What is UP?! Here with another adventure, and this time we've landed in the breathtaking paradise of Sri Lanka! 🇱🇰🌴 Get ready for part one of this epic journey because day one was absolutely PACKED with incredible experiences! We kicked things off with a flight on AirAsia, a quick pit stop in Kuala Lumpur ✈️, and then BAM! We arrived in Sri Lanka, ready to explore! First up, we headed to the Ahungalla Sea Turtles Conservation Project 🐢, and guys, seeing these beautiful creatures up close was truly something special. Unfortunately, we just missed the hatching release for the day 😭, but don't worry, we still got to see these amazing animals being cared for! Then, we dove straight into the vibrant culture of Sri Lanka with a visit to the Ambalangoda Ariyapala Mask Workshop🎭. Witnessing the intricate process of crafting those traditional masks was mind-blowing! The skill and artistry are just incredible. Next, prepare to SPARKLE! ✨ We stopped by a local gemstone store, and not only did they have some seriously stunning stones, but they also showed us a sample of a mining site and how they transform the raw gems into dazzling treasures! Who knew so much went into it?! 💎 Okay, now for a moment of reflection. We visited the Tsunami Museum, and honestly, it was a very moving and somber experience. Learning about the devastating impact of the tsunami was truly emotional 😔. It's so important to remember and honor those affected. After that, we definitely needed some comfort food, so it was off to Pizza Hut! 🍕 Sometimes, you just need a slice of familiarity when you're traveling, right? 😉 And finally, for the grand finale of day one, we arrived at the magnificent Fort Galle! This place is like stepping back in time! Cobblestone streets, stunning colonial architecture, and the ocean breeze – it's absolutely magical! We spent the afternoon just wandering around, soaking in the history and the vibes. Speaking of Galle Fort, let me tell you a bit more about it! This UNESCO World Heritage Site is a historic fortified city built first by the Portuguese in the 16th century and later extensively fortified by the Dutch during the 17th century. Walking through its ramparts gives you incredible views of the Indian Ocean. Inside the fort, you'll find a charming blend of colonial-era buildings, mosques, churches, temples, and bustling little shops and cafes. It's a living, breathing piece of history! We spent the evening exploring its nooks and crannies, and trust me, you're going to love the footage! I even stayed the night within the fort walls, which was such a unique experience!
