The rebuild on my 2003 KTM 250SX is getting closer to the good part — today I’m tackling the cylinder refurbishment, reassembling the top end, and setting the all-important “Z” measurement on the powervalve. The cylinder has had plenty of use, so bringing it back to spec is a big step toward getting this engine running the way it should. Once everything is cleaned, checked, and reassembled, the Z measurement gets dialled in so the powervalve works exactly as KTM intended. This isn’t a tutorial — just a “what I’m doing” video — but hopefully it helps anyone working on their own bike or following along with the full rebuild series.
