Us (Boston)/1981. The band started as a remnant of popular Boston band Third Rail. Alan Fiske and Bill Solum were in Third Rail and Alan had done a world tour with disco band Tavares with Matt Allen on drums. They added Jimmy Alba, a Boston guitarist, and Alex Space on lead vocals. After an uninspiring start they reformed the band. Space left, forcing Solum and Fiske to share lead vocals, and added Hunt on as their second guitarist. The band release a demo, and followed with an EP Q: What... Ans: Nothing...https://www.discogs.com/fr/release/10... , which shot instantly to number one on the local release chart at the Boston FM station WBCN, and stayed there for 3 months. Their first hit song was "7 Digits Away"; the release included other synth pop songs like "Rockette", "Atomic Love", "Surprise on You" (previously a Third Rail hit), and "Rear View Mirror". Most of the aforementioned tracks had regular airplay on Boston FM and college radio. The band received regular major label scrutiny and courted management by Bill Aucoin (of KISS and Billy Idol fame), but disbanded due to internal strife.
