"Thresholds Act II" A Group Art Exhibition at Chemist Gallery (March 2025) Memory Clock (2025), 56 cm plastic cycle, 3D resin print hand, sand, stone, looped recording , spotlight. The work is accompanied by a looped recording of crashing waves and my own voice, creating a soundscape that continuously blends with the visual experience, reinforcing the theme of the endless passage of time and the fluid nature of memory. Memory Clock explores themes of time, loss, and transition, deeply influenced by the passing of my younger brother. It reflects on how time shapes grief, how memories remain but gradually shift, and how we navigate the tension between holding on and letting go. The installation features a 3D resin print of a slightly open hand, suspended within a circular transparent gold structure. The hand, with its ghostly presence, symbolizes something that exists but is fading, much like a memory. Real sand falls from the hand, accumulating on the floor where the numbers of a clock are written. As the sand gathers, it covers the numbers, marking the passage of time while also erasing it. The gold circle symbolizes eternity, cycles, and the infinite loop of loss and remembrance. Each grain of sand represents a fleeting moment in the ongoing cycle of time. I invite viewers to reflect on their own experiences with time, grief, and memory. The piece is not only a personal reflection but also a universal meditation on how we carry those we've lost with us - always present, yet always slipping away. @barbara_majder_art
