It’s the poorest country in the Western hemisphere. Now Haiti has once again descended into chaos amid widespread food and energy shortages, soaring prices, gang violence and a new outbreak of cholera. The UN estimates a record 4.7 million people are experiencing high levels of food insecurity, nearly half the country's population. Joining the discussion: Jacqueline Charles covers Haiti and the Caribbean as a correspondent for the Miami Herald. Fiammetta Cappellini spent 14 years as the Haiti coordinator for the AVSI Foundation, and is currently their Caribbean Regional Manager.
