Karen Khachanov Powerful Hitting Practice 2022 Australian Open | Groundstrokes & Serves (4K 60FPS)

Powerful hitting from Karen Khachanov (Russia) at the 2022 Australian Open! Here we see Khackanov fine tuning his Groundstrokes as well as serves. Khachanov has a very identifiable forehand and service motion and a powerful game which comes from his athletiscism and height (189cm tall). He has an extreme forehand grip (western grip) and a simple motion where he points the strings of the racket straight downwards and meets the ball at contact with a fully extended arm. Although it shouldn't be forced, a fully straight arm at contact would mechanically give the most leverage on the ball therefore more spin and speed than a bent at the elbow at contact. Players that also have a straight arm at contact include Federer and Nadal whereas Djokovic has a bend at the elbow during contact with the ball. He has an excellent low to high swing path which makes his groundstrokes super consistent as he does not swing across his body. Khachanov's serve is also extremly powerful. He has a similar motion to Alex de Minaur where the strings face towards the net during the initial movement towards the "trophy position". They also both use a pinpoint stance.
