The Matriarchal Anointing The Matriarchal Anointing is the motherhood anointing—a divine grace that nurtures, covers, and lifts. It is powerful enough to pull one out of the pit and usher them into purpose. This anointing is transgenerational, flowing from one generation to another. Yet its intensity and capacity may differ as God enlarges it through yielded vessels. “So Elijah went from there and found Elisha son of Shaphat… Then he set out to follow Elijah and became his servant.” (1 Kings 19:19–21) Here we see the call into sonship and purpose. But it didn’t end there— “When they crossed, Elijah said to Elisha, ‘Tell me, what can I do for you before I am taken from you?’… Elisha replied, ‘Let me inherit a double portion of your spirit.’… The spirit of Elijah rested on Elisha.” (2 Kings 2:9–15) This reveals how the anointing not only continues but also multiplies across generations. What began as a call in 1 Kings matured into a mantle in 2 Kings. So it is with the Matriarchal Anointing: it births, nurtures, and then releases others into a greater dimension of their calling. It is a womb of purpose that never dies—it only evolves, expands, and empowers. Functions of the Matriarchal Anointing 1. It pulls you out of the pit into purpose: Ruth 1:6 — Naomi arose to return, and Ruth followed; the anointing lifted Ruth from despair into destiny. 2. It gives rest: This anointing nurtures, comforts, and provides covering, bringing rest from battles, confusion, and wandering. 3. It helps to break limits: It empowers you to go beyond barriers, natural restrictions, and generational ceilings, releasing you into new dimensions of grace and influence. 4. It aligns men: Judges 4 — Through Deborah’s leadership and prophetic authority, men like Barak were aligned to God’s purpose and victory was secured. 5. It preserves generational heritage: 2 Timothy 1:5 — The faith that dwelt in Lois and Eunice was preserved and passed down to Timothy. The matriarchal anointing safeguards legacies and sustains divine heritage across generations. How to Activate the Motherhood Anointing 1. Honour. Honour the spiritual mother God has given you. The anointing you do not honour cannot flow into your life. Elisha honoured Elijah by serving and following him faithfully (1 Kings 19:21; 2 Kings 2:2–15). Through that posture, he received a double portion. 2. Loyalty and Commitment. The motherhood anointing flows where there is unwavering loyalty and steadfast commitment. Ruth demonstrated this when she clung to Naomi, declaring: “Where you go I will go, where you stay I will stay…” (Ruth 1:16). Her loyalty aligned her with destiny and preserved her name in the lineage of Christ. 3. The Loss of Identity. To receive this anointing, you must be willing to let go of personal pride, ambitions, and self-centeredness. Ruth lost her Moabite identity and embraced a new life with Naomi’s God and people (Ruth 1:16–17). Likewise, Elisha burned his plough and oxen, cutting ties with his past (1 Kings 19:21). True impartation demands surrender of the old for the sake of destiny. 4. Service. Service is the pathway to impartation. Elisha poured water on the hands of Elijah (2 Kings 3:11), showing that his access to the prophetic mantle came through serving faithfully. Likewise, Joshua served Moses before stepping into leadership (Exodus 24:13). Service positions you to receive grace and prepares your spirit to handle the weight of the anointing. #purpose #mother #anointing #motherhood #motherhoodanointing
