I visited Dahiyah, the southern suburb of Beirut – a place most tourists will never dare to step into. Known as the stronghold of Hezbollah, it’s one of the most politically sensitive and heavily secured areas in Lebanon. From the moment I arrived, the air felt different – streets lined with political murals, posters of leaders, and a constant sense of being watched. As I explored and filmed, the situation turned tense. Locals began questioning me – asking who I was, why I was there, and what I was recording. The stares grew sharper, the questions more intense. Some even suspected I could be a spy. Within minutes, things escalated to the point where I felt I could be kidnapped. I made a split-second decision – I ran. Heart pounding, I darted through the street, and without thinking, jumped into a public bus just to get away from the situation. My hands were shaking, and I could feel every passenger staring, wondering why I looked so unsettled. In this video, you’ll see the raw and unfiltered side of Dahiyah – far from the tourist areas of Beirut – where politics, conflict, and suspicion shape daily life. This is an intense, eye-opening journey into a part of Lebanon that few outsiders ever witness.
