We are learning all the time...we came out and filmed during the highest tide of the year a few weeks ago and witnessed a beautiful, calm sea. No waves to speak of and definitely no waves smashing and breaking into the cliffs. This surprised me, proving I know very little about nature's workings. This film was filmed at high tide but nowhere near as high as it was earlier but, due to Storm Benjamin (named by the French because it was strongest over northern France which originated somewhere over the Atlantic ocean some 2000 miles away), the ripple effect has reached our shores quite dramatically. I've learnt that t's not so much the height of the tide which can do damage but the movement of the water which can be effected from thousands of miles away. The wind, when in the right direction, would also add dramatically to the delayed devastation. The wind gust were only around 20mph on the morning of filming but had been significantly higher earlier in the week.
