In this video, I walk you through the 7 components of frugality that you should consider adopting in your life. 1. Intention: Minimizing Waste and Maximizing Value Money is a representation of time as we trade our time at work for a paycheck. If you waste your money, you are wasting your time. And so when it comes to money, it is important to be intentional. Intention with money means minimizing waste and maximizing your value when it comes to what you choose to buy. 2. Sustainability: Spending Less Than Earning Many people are unhappy with their lives because they are stuck in the cycle of spending money and making money. And the reason they are trapped in this cycle is because they are living above their means. In order to have a good relationship with money, it is important to spend less than you earn or live below your means. 3. Order: Knowing What’s Happening Many people's financial life is chaos where they do not know what is going on, which traps them in this cycle of spending money and making money. In order to break from this cycle, you must have order with your finances and know how much you're spending, where your money is going, and staying on top of your bills. 4. Balance: Caring About Your Past, Preset, or Future Self When it comes to money, many people view it in extremes where they're either cheap and save everything or materialistic and spend everything. It is important to not live in either of these extremes and have balance where you make decisions that benefit your past, present, and future self. 5. Longevity: Embracing Consistency, Not Intensity When you view money in extremes, it is hard to be sustain the lifestyle for a long period of time. And when it comes to accomplishing financial goals, when you live in extremes, it is also hard to reach the point where you accomplish the goals. Longevity comes from balance and embracing consistency, not intensity. 6. Gratitude: The Appreciation Threshold When you start spending too much money, you don't enjoy things as much because they are no longer special and you take them for granted. Another important component of frugality is living with just enough so that you still have gratitude. 7. Inspiration: Knowing Your Why Finally, the last component of frugality is inspiration and knowing your why. When you know why you're choosing to be more intentional with your money, it is easier to keep at the lifestyle because you are inspired. **This video is intended for entertainment purposes only, none of it should be interpreted as financial advice.
