In this Animated Design We explore the Clock as originally designed by Leonardo Da Vinci. The First Design was modeled after his original Work in the Codex Madrid I. I completed the missing Parts with a Design of the RWTH Aachen University. Many Thanks. It is the earliest known Description of a Clock with weight-driven warned striking. This Clock uses the Verge and Foliot Mechanism or Crown-Wheel Escapement as timing Device. The Second Design is based on the Da Vinci Clock Kit from Academy Hobby Models. It uses a different Escapement Mechanism Form, making it an interesting Example. Although these Clocks are highly inaccurate in Comparison to the later Pendulum Clocks, They do look very nice.
