How to input pin location coordinates in PVSOL premium and PVsyst? #pvsyst #pvdesign #solarpanelinstallation #greenenergy #solarpower #solarenergy #electricalenergy #electricalpower #renewableenergy #cleanenergy #ongridinverter #ongridsolarsystem 🌞 1. In PVSOL Premium PVSOL uses weather data (Meteonorm or imported TMY files) that include geographic coordinates. You can either select an existing location or create a new custom one. 🔹 Steps: Open your project in PVSOL Premium. Go to “Climate and Location Data” (usually the first step in the project setup). You’ll see a map interface or list of predefined locations. To set your own coordinates, click on “New Location” or “Edit Location”. Enter: Latitude (°N) — positive for north, negative for south Longitude (°E) — positive for east, negative for west Altitude (m) — above sea level Optionally, choose time zone and data source (e.g., Meteonorm, PVGIS, or imported CSV weather file). Click OK / Save, and the location will be stored and selectable for future projects. 🟢 Note: PVSOL automatically loads solar radiation and temperature data based on your coordinates if you use Meteonorm. ☀️ 2. In PVsyst PVsyst also uses meteorological databases but allows you to define a user location manually or import your own weather data. 🔹 Steps: Open PVsyst and start or edit a project. In the “Project Design” window, go to “Site and Meteo”. Click “Choose Site” → A list of available sites will appear. To define a new site, click on “New Site”. Enter the following manually: Site Name (e.g., Lahore – Custom) Latitude (°N) → use a positive value for north, negative for south Longitude (°E) → positive for east, negative for west Altitude (m) → above mean sea level Time Zone (e.g., +5 for Pakistan) Then, either: Select a weather file (Meteonorm, NASA, or import your own .MET/.CSV), or Leave it blank if you only need basic sun path and irradiation analysis. Click Save → now your site will appear in the list of selectable locations. ⚙️ Example: Let’s say your solar site is in Lahore, Pakistan: Latitude: 31.5204° N Longitude: 74.3587° E Altitude: 217 m Time Zone: +5 UTC You would enter those same values in both PVSOL and PVsyst.
