Today I’m talking about the endoscopic facelift, taking the opportunity of the Agorà International Congress where I presented my case series spanning 22 years with more than 700 cases. It’s one of the most significant series—perhaps worldwide—of endoscopic facelifts, and I’m presenting it here at the Agorà Congress. But what is an endoscopic facelift? An endoscopic facelift is a surgical, minimally invasive procedure—but it’s not a “mini” operation. How does it work? Through small incisions hidden in the hair, we reposition the tissues at a deep level, lifting them upward while working in depth. This guarantees excellent stability of the result because, as I always say, I have never had to perform MIVEL—the MIVEL endoscopic facelift—twice on the same patient. I first published MIVEL in 2015, and today I can report a series of more than 700 cases. What’s new about MIVEL today? MIVEL no longer focuses only on the “foxy eye” effect or the repositioning of the upper third; with endoscopy we can now address the jawline and the neck as well with MIVEL 3, the MIVEL technique that allows us to reposition not only the eye area and the zygomatic region, but also the entire neck area. It’s a procedure performed on a day-hospital (outpatient) basis, under sedation, and in the vast majority of cases general anesthesia isn’t necessary.
