It is my pleasure to bring a new album of oppressive, claustrophobic, dark, eerie and malevolent doomy-laden ambient black metal from Canadian band Hérétique du Nord. Chiefly the sole work of Malgeist, Les Archives Écarlates features vocal contributions from Spiritvs on the doomed chant of ‘La Lame Cruelle’, and the gnarled croaking terror of Nafre Hellulander’s slowly intoned malfeasance on ‘Évocation de Blizzard’ This is an album of tangible atmosphere and dread, summoned from physical instrument and machine; a thick fog of occult darkness shrouding the spirit as it passes between worlds.
