Here are 5 #JazzFusion 251 lines of mine in the key of Am using exclusively 2-1 #ArpeggiosGuitar concept. The 2-1 arpeggios combine #LegatoGuitar #HybridPicking and #Sweeping technique and can be apply to any scale like #MinorMelodicScale as in these examples. These lines have been inspired by the great #TimMiller, guitar teacher at Berklee. Here is the chord chart: /:/ Bm7b5 / E7Alt / Am7 / % /:/ Licks 1-3: I’m using the E #Superlocrian (E-F-G-Ab-Bb-C-D) on the E7Alt (V), which is the same as playing the F Minor Melodic Scale. On the Am7 (I) I’m using the A Minor Melodic Scale (A-B-C-D-E-F#-G#). Licks 4-5: I’m using in those licks a simple and nice trick namely using the minor7b5 arpeggios over the 3 chords. I’m starting with Bm7b5 arpeggio, then over the E7Alt I’m playing a Dm7b5 (Which enhance the b9 en the 5#) and finally over the Am7 I’m using a F# m7b5 arpeggio (Which enhance the 6). Those chords substitutions are very efficient! First they enhance nice chord tones, secondly they are easy to use and to memorize since you are using the same kind and shape of arpeggio and thirdly they add a strong logic and a point to your improvisation since the listeners ear the same pattern moving up through the chord progression. The lines are played each twice. First at 135 bpm and then at 98bpm. Tabs are included for better understanding. The Backing Track is at 133 bpm which can be challenging at first. Feel free to slow it down using youtube parameters for smoother practice. ENJOY :)
