As requested by you recently here is the full interview , I had shared an excerpt before in October 2019 which was the part that showed Benjamin being interviewed ~brief only~ but it is badly damaged, I did upload the whole interview and it was blocked due to the Promo Video of Since You're Gone being part of this , so I did delete that part. This is from a British TV show recorded in 1984 but it aired I believe in 1985, called The Other Side of the Tracks. I bought this from a DVD of various videos and interviews ( I believe it was created in the UK) . This was the excerpt video • An excerpt from an interview with Ric Ocas... The interviewer is Paul Gambaccini and the program was called The Other Side of the Tracks. I will be writing about this on my website so this video is to accompany the chapter of interviews on the website. As you can see the picture quality is bad and I tried to fix the audio and rest as best as I could. I uploaded this interview from a DVD I bought to honour the memory to Benjamin Orr and Ric Ocasek and to keep their legacy and the legacy of The Cars alive. Because the purpose is to non-commercially educate and offer a critical assessment, this fan made video is being uploaded under the terms of Fair Use. No copyright infringement intended. It shows that either the interviewer decided to focus on Ric and did not encourage Benjamin to speak much or perhaps Benjamin indicated that he would not talk much, in fact Benjamin looks uncomfortable in this and I feel he was nervous but to me this makes me admire Benjamin so much more, to see him be so nervous or uncomfortable and yet it is something he did for the love of performing and for the love of music . I feel fame was a double edged sword for him and something that he battled with. He loved his fans , no doubt, but the pressures of interviews etc must have been so tough for someone who was essentially such a private man. This is actually why I feel this video is a rare treasure as we get so see the human being in this , not the "rock star " performance. I also wanted to share this since a lot of fans commented on how painful it was to watch the final interview of The Cars with Benjamin and show something that perhaps would make you all smile and think of better times. If you like this perhaps subscribe and perhaps comment or add a thumbs up :D. I would like to perhaps help a younger audience find out about Benjamin and become new fans :) If you like this please subscribe to this channel and please come and checks out my Facebook page / 8.9.1947benjaminorrelectricangelrockandroller Warmest regards to you all, From Tasmania, Tia
