SoundHoops - close miking inside drum hoops

Full article with videos and photos on Drummerszone: http://drummerszone.com/news/article/... SoundHoops for close miking inside drum hoops - At the Sennheiser booth at NAMM 2017, the on January 2, 2017 released SoundHoops were a surprising new development in drum miking. The hoops have a small hole in which you can put either a Sennheiser or Shure microphone to have your drums amplified. SoundHoops call it the 'symbiosis of hoops and microphone, with the best possible protection for the microphone.' For drummers, the short set-up and dismantling time and having no clamps or stands that you can hit while playing, is quite the advantage. At the Winter NAMM Show, the SoundHoops were on display with the Sennheiser e908 B, but the Shure Beta 98 A/C will fit the S-Rings in the hoops as well. The S-Rings are made of rubber to make sure that no vibrations - not even Kenny Aronoff's rim shots- reach the microphone. You can buy all the hoops seperate, but when you want the full package with five hoops and five Sennheiser microphones, it will set you back around $1600 (± €1.500).
