EAA Air Venture Inbound Flight

Oshkosh 2019 #OSH19 we flew from the thumb of Michigan to KOSH with a stop in Watertown, WI. in a pair of Stinson 108 's. It was a flying adventure with weather and friends as our daily KOSH updates showed we were stuck for a few days in Water Town and weather limited access to Oshkosh for all. We were able to sneak in before the Stinson Mass fly-in and paved the way for the rest to disregard the requests to stay put and just fly over later later in the afternoon. This video is of the flight over. It covers ATC going into the airport, the relaxed flying over Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, and Wisconsin, and some of the weather in Watertown. The EAA flyi-in at Oshkosh is a multi-part journey/event. First is the flight to KOSH, this journey can be over 1000 miles for some. Being vintage aircraft our flight is slow and low in our taildraggers. The next part is getting into Oshkosh following the 30+ page NOTAM (instructions) with multiple routing and arrivals that many VFR pilots only get to experience when going to KOSH. Then there is the reason we go, the celebration of aviation that is the EAA Air Venture fly-in. All forms of aviation are represented and pilots along with aviation enthusiasts spend the week enjoying all that is general aviation. When it's all over we again need to make our journey back home.
