The Children's Hospital at Montefiore (CHAM) of Montefiore Medical Center offers the full spectrum of advanced services for pediatric patients and is a recognized leader in the areas of cardiology, nephrology, oncology, orthopaedics, neurology and surgery, among others. In 2011-2012, CHAM was one of only two hospitals in the New York tri-state area to be nationally ranked in all 10 specialties by U.S. News & World Report's Best Children's Hospitals. Children with all forms of cardiac defects and anomalies benefit from the vast resources of CHAM's Pediatric Heart Center, including its recently opened state-of-the- art pediatric hybrid cardiac catheterization lab, one of the first of its kind in the area. CHAM's experienced cardiologists and cardiothoracic surgeons employ the most advanced therapies and procedures available to treat both common and rare heart conditions. Through clinical trials, CHAM is working to improve outcomes in cardiac bypass and transplant patients and test the use of mechanical assist devices as a bridge to transplant for children.
