In a channel first, behold my very face as it produces the honeyed notes your ears have been waiting for. This was a quick project but a hobbitload of fun. "Bilbo's Riddle of Strider" is a poem written by Bilbo Baggins intended to help Frodo and the hobbits identify the real Strider (the later King Aragorn II Elessar); since "all that is gold does not glitter", the poem warns the reader that one's true nature cannot always be deduced by their looks. It also implies that Strider, though he may not glitter, has a heart of gold. The poem was then committed to the Red Book of Westmarch, lost for several ages of the world, then finally rediscovered by philologist and ring-obsessed WW1 veteran J.R.R. Tolkien, who dutifully translated it from the original Westron (or so he would have us believe, the old chum). Or Tolkien made it all up, and wrote one helluva good poem at a whim. Good Valar, that man can write. LYRICS: All that is gold does not glitter, Not all those who wander are lost; The old that is strong does not wither, Deep roots are not reached by the frost. From the ashes a fire shall be woken, A light from the shadows shall spring; Renewed shall be blade that was broken, The crownless again shall be king. Until we meet again! P.S.: the thumbnail c.q. cover illustration is a GPT adaptation of an image of me attempting hard to channel a young Aragorn somewhere in the Harz. Composition of the album cover by me.
