Jeffrey Henderson | Shamal Tandem | Compressor Beast 50 CFM+ | Accessories Build Vessel Up Part 3.1 Pumps & Motors Selection Assembly/Complete Build - Vessel Up 3.1 Hi Everyone, Welcome back to my YouTube channel. Ok, so weeks back I uploaded parts 1 and 2 of this compressor beast project. If you haven’t seen the two parts yet, get a look. Part 1 was focused on tumbling the vessel, where part 2 was focused on complete vessel cleaning and protection. In this part, I focus on component selection and installation of everything to get this beast running. In this video, I start the lengthy process of by introducing the components and accessories I selected for this beast. I then swiftly run through calculations for motor selection, but also motor pulley sizing to set the pumps maximum rpm, to provide optimum performance of the system. I then proceed to the mounting of the motors, whilst finding a suitable location for them and the new 25CFM pumps. Moreover, I demonstrate lining/squaring up the new pumps to the vessel’s channels/platforms before drilling new holes. Once this is complete, I follow on to the most time-consuming part of this video, the pipework feeding the vessel. This is all formed using 3/4” BSP galvanised and stainless-steel pipework/fittings. Furthermore, these two new pipelines are precisely made to route air from both pumps to the large brass check valves/non return valves at the inlets of the vessel. Special attention/fabrication is demonstrated so that these lines larger lines fit down the inside of the SPZ belts and the compressor pump’s platforms. Part 3 is now set out in sections to present all the detailed work to get the compressor running. So, enjoy, there could be two more sections to part 3. In the final part of this video, I demonstrate what my compressor beast will be connected to within my garage. Seen is a unique air system I created, that is there to benefit my experience working throughout the garage, from using anything that involves pneumatic air. Multiple hi-flow points are demonstrated at different ports/hose types. Also, I demonstrate the switch over system to change between 3 stage filtered air, and my automatic water/moisture draining system. Now that part 3.1 is complete, I will move towards (part 3.2) the electrical side before finally testing the custom set up. When the sections are completed throughout part 3, an additional part 4 video will now follow dedicated towards the design and manufacturing of two custom stainless-steel tensioner mechanisms that were created specifically to tighten both SPZ belts. Let’s say I had issues trying to tighten the belts by levering the motors against the pumps due to their size. So, I designed and manufactured these to make my life easier, but also to eliminate marking to the new components using a crowbar/pry bar. Finally, a part 5 will also follow to design and build the stainless-steel safety guards I have briefly mentioned from the beginning of this project. If you want to see this project beast evolve, please subscribe, and hit the post notifications bell to see all the latest from my channel. Also, other interesting projects will follow very soon, such as my one-of-a-kind Green Beast E-bike, my unique mechanical iris/aperture and my unique smart glove. Watch this space, its only beginning to get more exciting. Peace out!! Much love!
