Rhinoplasty is the surgery of the nose that provides two basic benefits to patients: Improved appearance and/or nasal function improvement where breathing problems can be relieved. The nose consists of two basic components: bone and cartilage. The bone supports the upper part of the nose, while the lower part of the nose is supported by cartilage. Inside of the nose is a hollow cavity, or the nasal cavity. The nasal cavity is divided into two sections or passages by the septum. The nasal septum is the part that divides the nose. With this surgery it is possible to reduce or increase the size of the nose, change the shape of the bridge or the tip, narrow the span of the nostrils, or change the angle between the upper lip and the nose.
