Owens Moore is a Physiological Psychologist, scholar, and author whose work bridges neuroscience and African-centered thought. A graduate of Lincoln University (PA) with an M.S. and Ph.D. from Howard University, Dr. Moore has spent over two decades as a professor, researcher, and activist. He has served on the faculty of Morehouse College, Clark Atlanta University (where he also chaired the Psychology Department), and Fayetteville State University. His academic work spans psychology, biology, and Africana studies, and he was a co-founding member of the Neuroscience Institute at Morehouse School of Medicine. As a researcher, he has received federal and private grants to study how hormones and neuropeptides influence social behavior, and he has applied this knowledge to support student learning and educational development. A 2009 Fulbright Scholar, Dr. Moore has taught and conducted research across four continents and is widely recognized internationally for his scholarship and activism, particularly in Salvador, Brazil. He is the author of several influential books, including The Science of Melanin, Why Darkness Matters, Pigment Power and hosts the Melanology Hour on BlogTalk Radio.
