I thought I won't perfect it. My "SINAMBONG", one of many old traditions of making sweets in Ilocos Sur. As I remember when I was a kid, my Grandmother used to ask us to wake up at dawn together with my father to go to "dadapilan" for us in Ilocano or sugarcane farm. (I know some people can relate because the small farm used a carabao to help it grind to squeezed the syrup from the cane and here there is a huge pan that will catch the liquid. Then they would cook it. And we called it "SINAMBONG" it was first created here. Once the syrup thickens, "pataroy" then there is a long stick that will hanged on the pan for them to put our glutinous rice inserted on a cloth or anything that will not ruined. This is based on my childhood days in the province. With a cup of black coffee or chocolate complete your breakfast or merienda. 😋😋 12/27/2020
