Music: Kai Engel - ICD - 10 - 05 Comatose Cayetano Santos Godino, born on October 31, 1896 to Fiore Godino and Lucía Ruffo, was an Argentinian serial killer and arsonist. Nicknamed “Petiso orejudo,” or “Macrotous Runt,” ascribed by his long prominent ears, Godino lived an ill-bred childhood, mainly caused by his abusive and alcoholic father who developed syphilis before his birth. At the age of seven, Godino had already begun his endeavor for murder, primarily luring young boys who by promising them sweets. One of his victims was Miguel de Paoli, a two-year-old who was beaten and thrown into a ditch coated with spines. An officer governing the area took notice and scolded the children to the police department where they were picked up by their mothers an hour later. At the age of 10, Godino took the life of María Rosa Face, an 18-month-old girl who was beaten and buried alive. Godino had become an irreverent individual and his masturbation habits became compulsive, causing his mother to report him to the police, earning him two-months’ jail time. Godino’s killing spree continued, attempting to murder a 13-year-old boy, who showed up brutally beaten with a cord around his neck, strangling him. Godino’s arsonist tendencies led to set fire to a warehouse, later addressing to the police: “I like to see firemen working. It's nice to see how they fall into the fire.” On the 7th of March, 1912, Godino set ablaze the frock of a five-year-old who was unfortunately announced dead a few days later, not being able to fully recover. On the 3rd of December, 1912, Godino lured Jesualdo Giordano, a 3-year-old boy into the outskirts of town, beating him and strangling him with a rope he had as a belt. Gordino carved a 4-inch nail into the temple of the boy’s head and fled the scene. Godino died in 1944 of an internal hemorrhage that might have been caused by his inmate’s sexual harassment at the Ushuaia Penitentiary.
