Runner: Zero-Master IWAD: Doom.wad Category: Nightmare! Map: D1All (E1M1 - E4M8) Source Port: DSDA-Doom v0.28.3 Time: 27:12 Description: Yes, it's been a while since my last upload, unfortunately I've got repetitive strain injury in both arms, but I've recovered quite a bit lately. I've most likely had some mild damage to the ulnar nerve that lasted for quite a while, starting early 2023, which in early 2024 led to my forearm muscle endurance dropping off a cliff. I assume most of the nerve issues are gone as I don't feel pins and needles/burning in my pinky and ring fingers anymore. Despite many months of exercise I'm not able to shake off the muscle issues quite yet. So right now I get tired along the pinky finger side of my forearms including the elbow, but it varies quite a bit in how problematic it is. I would have hoped to uploaded something better than this after such a long time, but I don't know if I'll be able to before dark ages releases, so this will have to do. Anyways, here's an ultra-casual playthrough of ultimate doom on nightmare, it's also the first ever single-segment nightmare run using the -chain_episodes feature in DSDA-Doom which allows for a demo to be created, as in the originial it's not possible to continue after finishing an episode. Hardest part was E4M1, there's just no health and respawn makes it so random and it's late in the run. Some short comments on the run: E1M1: I hope to not lose like 40 armor. E1M2: Same here. E1M3: Hardest level, fortunately it's only the third level. E1M4: Sometimes the imp pushes the barrel out so I destroy it before going for the jump, annoying as it sometimes delays me from getting to the yellow door in time and it can't be open since some elevator is active elsewhere, but it opened immediately here. E1M5: Rocket launcher is annoying to use at yellow key door, grab soulsphere for extra safety. This went quite bad. E1M6: Happy I got the door trick, would be a shame if my first succesful run got stuck in there. E1M7: Easy as long as I have some health for the start. E1M8: Intercept overflow trick. E2M1: I grab the shotgun first so I don't get unlucky and hitscanned to death... was starting to think firing the shotgun 5 times at the pinkies before activating the switch was a bit too safe, but then they nearly got me this time. E2M2: A bit of a waste grabbing the mega armor since you get one on the next level, but it helped a bit. E2M3: Soulsphere for extra safety, not really needed. E2M4: Unlucky with the soulsphere grab, guess I should just have waited for the floor to raise high enough instead. E2M5: Easy enough with plasma rifle. E2M6: Was afraid this level would kill my wrists with all the move back spam to get the wobble for the void glide. E2M7: Need to be careful to not run out of rockets for the jump. E2M8: Can always get blocked by lost souls here on nightmare and then take a cyberdemon rocket. E3M1: Not messing around here, those cacos are too dangerous so I waste plenty of time to get them to move out first. E3M2: Grab the green armor for some safety. E3M3: Just hope to not get blocked after mega armor. E3M4: Invulnerability makes it straightforward. E3M5: Easy. E3M6: Get a soulsphere just to be safe. E3M7: Clear out those lost souls near the exit so they don't get in the way when I go for the jump. E3M8: Lots of cells makes it simple. E4M1: Came up with a really good route here eventually, which is to clear the left side first so respawn on the right is delayed a bit and doesn't get in the way of using the rocket launcher. E4M2: Quite a bit of health at the start thankfully, need to be careful of the jump into the second room as damage can make you miss it. E4M3: Grab lots of resources during invulnerability. E4M4: Another invulnerability. E4M5: Messed up my route, was supposed to BFG the pinky, but instead I ended up using rockets which hit some barrels somehow. E4M6: Was quite sure I'd die here, even went the wrong way for a few seconds as I never had to get the soulsphere that early, was supposed to get blue key first. So much health to pick up though so I got through it. E4M7: Quite easy, lots of resources. E4M8: Same.
