The camera pans across men and women queuing up to register on a scheme where they spend their holidays on a farm helping out and getting paid for it. M/S as they register with the clerks behind the desk. M/S of two city typists Joan and Peggy in their office. The time comes to leave and they cover their typewriters and set off for the railway station, C/U of wheels as train sets off for Bedfordshire. M/S as they walk down a country lane after they have arrived. M/S as a villagers shows them the way. L/S of tents and people milling about as the girls arrive. Various shots as they register and are taken to their sleeping quarters after collecting bed linen. The camera pans across the rows of tents. The two girls change into slacks and blouses, and set off to meet the other workers. M/S as they walk by the river and relax under a tree. M/S next morning as they arrive in the fields on a lorry, they all jump out and are shown by the farmer how to cut cabbages properly. Various shots as they happily cut the cabbages and put them in sacks. Camera pans across their lunchtime food and they all gather around and eat.
