It is the twenty-second installment of the Call of Duty series and is the eighth main entry in the Black Ops sub-series, following Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 (2024). Set in 2035, Black Ops 7's story—playable in single-player or co-op—will follow a team of agents led by David Mason in the aftermath of Call of Duty: Black Ops II (2012). As with previous Call of Duty titles, the game will also include a multiplayer component and the cooperative round-based Zombies mode. Development on Black Ops 7 took place concurrently with the production of Black Ops 6, with both titles being green-lit at the same time. Marketing for the title began in June 2025 with the release of a cinematic trailer during the 2025 Xbox Games Showcase event; a full reveal debuted on August 19, at Gamescom. Black Ops 7 is scheduled for release on November 14, 2025, for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. Call of Duty: Black Ops 7—like its predecessor, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 (2024)—will be a first-person shooter. Depending on the game mode selected, players use near-future military equipment, such as weapons, "field upgrades", and "scorestreaks", to combat AI opponents, other human players, or undead creatures. Players can traverse a level/map omnidirectionally, and can perform "wall jumps" off of select walls;[3] in a change from Black Ops 6, the "Tactical Sprint" movement option—a limited-duration boost of speed allowing faster movement than the standard sprint—has been removed from the core movement, but is accessible as an optional in-game perk. Battlefield 6 is a first-person shooter game developed by Battlefield Studios and published by Electronic Arts. Serving as the eighteenth installment in the Battlefield series, after Battlefield 2042, the game will release on October 10, 2025 on PlayStation 5, Windows and Xbox Series X/S. On February 3, 2025, Electronic Arts announced an initiative titled Battlefield Labs, a closed-access worldwide playtest for an upcoming installment in the Battlefield series. The reveal confirmed that the game was being developed by DICE, Ripple Effect Studios (formerly DICE LA), Criterion Games and Motive Studios under the collective branding of Battlefield Studios. Before its closure in 2024, Ridgeline Games was also involved in the development, focusing on the single-player campaign. The announcement video featured gameplay from a pre-alpha build of Battlefield 6 and also confirmed the game's modern warfare setting. By March 2025, early gameplay footage from Battlefield Labs had been leaked online by playtesters. On July 19, 2025, the game's title was leaked early when Electronic Arts sent packages to influencers featuring the Battlefield 6 logo. On July 21, Battlefield Studios announced that the upcoming title would have an open beta prior to its official release. The game was officially revealed as Battlefield 6 on July 22, 2025, when Electronic Arts announced the premiere date for the official reveal trailer, which was released on July 24, 2025. On July 23, 2025, an additional teaser was published on the Battlefield social media pages. The teaser indicated that the central conflict, set in 2027, would involve a fractured NATO and a private military company named Pax Armata. On July 31, 2025, an overhauled look at the Portal map creation tools introduced in Battlefield 2042 was showcased, including a new editor powered by the Godot engine. On August 1, 2025, the multiplayer trailer was released. The trailer showed off gameplay from game modes introducing new gadgets and mechanics, as well as heavily destructive environments and returning features from previous releases, such as being able to collect dog tags from performing takedowns on enemy players - a feature missing from the previous installment.
