Watching someone you love suffer is heartbreaking, and sitting in that room feels like more than your heart can carry. But as hard as it was, I knew I didn’t want her to be alone. It’s about realizing that in those last moments, it isn’t about our comfort, it’s about loving them enough to sit, hold a hand, and be present as they cross from this life into the next.
