How many women shaped science and were later forgotten?🌍 She was the first woman to become a full professor of Chemistry in Portugal.🔬 She was mentored by Marie Curie. She worked with radioactive materials at a time when leaving the country required a husband’s permission and when being a woman already meant being doubted. Her name was Branca Edmée Marques. Born in Lisbon in 1899, she could have stayed in Paris after her PhD. Instead, she came back. She opened a radio­chemistry laboratory. She chose to build science here, knowing recognition might never follow.🎓 For decades, it didn’t.
