This is CAPE COD: A Winter Day From 6A to P-town

Experience a different side of the peninsula in this winter edition of my "This is Cape Cod" series. We’re trading summer crowds for the quiet beauty of Route 6A, an empty beach hike in Truro, and a cozy evening in Provincetown. Winter on the Cape has a magic all its own. In this video, we start our day driving the historic Route 6A (the Old King's Highway), admiring the centuries-old architecture and sea captains' homes without the traffic. We then head to the Cape Cod National Seashore in Truro for a brisk hike through the dunes—the views of the Atlantic are even more dramatic with the winter sky. After working up an appetite, we stop by the Atlantic Spice Company for some local shopping and warm up with a wine tasting at Truro Vineyards. To wrap up the day, we drive to the very tip of the Cape: Provincetown. We explore the quiet Commercial Street before heading in for well-deserved drinks and dinner to see how P-town transforms during the off-season.
