This guide should have been simply a matter of running the Newicons installer, but I couldn't get it to work, so instead I tried to copy the icons, and that didnt work either. So in the end, I did it manually with the icon editor. But I decided to put the video out anyway, perhaps as a last resort. If anything, it helps to understand that the Info files are not just image of the icons, but also information about the application as well - mainly the default tool - this is the program which the OS tries to run in order to load in the application. If the file is a picture, then the default tool can be any image browser. If there is no default tool selected, then the app wont run, so the way to get it to run is to set up the application itself as the default tool. For example c:\system\format to open the format tool, shows as not working in the video. Probably there is an earlier or later version of newicons where the installer works, so this was perhaps a non issue for most people? In the next part, we'll install LZX and also Directory Opus 4.12CU.
