God Be In My Head – SATTBB unaccompanied

This piece was originally written as a tribute to conductor Peter Godfrey (1922-2017) who had had a significant role in the development of NZ choral music from his arrival in the country in the late 1950s. It was subsequently included in “A Westlake Mass” as one of the two communion anthems. The top choirs from Westlake Girls and Westlake Boys High Schools toured to Italy in 2017, singing at Mass in St Peter’s in Rome. For that occasion I was asked to provide five anthems (including this one). The unusual scoring (SATTBB) reflected the relative numbers of male and female voices in the touring group (a mixed-voice choir and a male-voice choir). -------------------------------------- To purchase this score, please contact the composer.
