She was not happy with her scar and wanted something done about it. She was advised by Mr. Govilkar to have a belt lipectomy, which is part of a body lift surgery. The original surgery our patient had was in November 2011, and had the revision and further surgery here at Aurora in October 2012, which was 3 months prior to this testimonial. When asked about the pain she experienced immediately after the surgery she was very positive about it, stating there was a lot less pain than she was expecting. She had the surgery on the Friday afternoon and was up and about on Saturday morning with the help of a nurse. She saw the scar on the Saturday morning and was instantly thrilled at the improvements she could see. When she had her drains removed she had braced herself for a lot of pain, as previously, in her original operation it hurt her quite a lot, but she feels it was because they were not very gentle with her. She was truly amazed at how little it hurt and how much she felt cared for here at Aurora. By day three she was mobile around the house and had friends visiting. She and her friends could not believe the results, and by day four she actually left the house herself, which is quite remarkable considering she had two elements of a body lift surgery. The reason she opted for the surgery in the first place was she had lost 6 and a half stone and had a lot of excess skin. She got the surgery to regain some confidence, but it actually set her back as her scar was hideous, in her own words. After the body lift surgery with Mr. Govilkar she said she felt confident for the first time in 48 years. She informs us she did a lot of research prior to surgery, looking at other clinics in the UK and abroad, but opted for the UK as she thought at least it won't go wrong.
