GDT 2021 Thru-Hike: Episode A3 Lineham Ridge to Twin Lakes

Day 3 on the GDT meant putting on the big packs (we had been slack packing the first two days with the help of our friend Kirstie). We started off from Rowe Lake Trailhead and headed up the burned forests into Rowe Valley. After a brief stop to water up at a lush meadow, we ascended the 2nd highest point in the HDT at Lineham Ridge. The alpine flowers were stunning and the red rocks and wind of Waterton blew us away. After a beautiful ridgewalk we said goodbye to the views of Lineham Lakes and descended into another burned valley along the impressive rock wall. The trail was hot and dirty with the silt of the fire, but we hiked past a pond, a stream, and Lone Lake all before we finally got up and over the last couple of ridgecrests before dropping down to the beautiful cirque of Twin Lakes.
