As it bears down on its enemy, the weight of the impending bloodshed finally breaks the council, prompting the decision to pull back and end the war. COMPOSER'S NOTES: Everything about this song is experimental. At the beginning I decided to pull a Phoenix and make a "dark counterpart" to Submerge, which sort of worked, I guess. I got through a few minutes of the bass and guitar solos before getting sick of it and abandoning it for a year; I really wasn't a fan of how everything fit together until I finished MotM and got to rounding off the last couple minutes of this song. This is so far my only piece to mix guitar and orchestra, and it actually went alright. Ultimately, I think the techno section at the middle/end was fuller and just generally executed better than in any other song. Between that and adding some depth to the beginning, this didn't turn out as bad as I had originally thought, so I was happy with the finished product.
