The Stelvio Pass on a motorbike - June 2025

On June 13th 2025 I rode the legendary Stelvio Pass. Having already ridden the highest mountain passes in France, Switzerland and Austria, I just had to ride this (the highest mountain pass in Italy) didn't I. I rode it from the Trafoi side, which is the most difficult way, taking in the famed 48 hairpins. I'll be honest, I was nervous because I'd seen so many bikes being dropped on the videos posted on social media by Kanyarfoto. I did not want to be immortalised dropping my bike on the Stelvio! Anyway, I did it without incident. Am I glad I rode it? Yes, it's iconic! Did I enjoy it? No! It's so technical that there was no time to enjoy the ride. It was all about focus.
