Not sure how many years I have been making this dessert for my kids, it is always a hit. I have introduced some of my neighbours to it too. Recipe Filling 3 large or 4 small Apples Granny Smith/Red or Golden Delicious or other of your choice 3 large or 4 small Apples Fiji, Pink lady or other of your choice 1 lemon zest and juice 1 tsp Cinnamon/Mixed Spice/Pumpkin Spice your choice Crumble top 175g/6oz Flour 75g/3 oz Sugar white or brown 75g/3oz Unsalted butter Pre-heat the oven to 400F/200C/Gas Mark 6 Put the zest, lemon juice, and spice into a saucepan. Peel and core apples then add the chopped apples to the pan and bring to a simmer/slow boil for 20 minutes. Stire occasionally to help break down the apples a little. Put the flour, sugar, and cold unsalted butter into a bowl and rub them together until they form fine bread crumbs. Place cooked apples into an oven-proof dish and let cool for about 5 minutes. Pour the crumble mixture over the top of the cooked apples and spread evenly to the edges. Place in preheated oven on the middle to lower shelf and bake for 30 minutes or until golden brown on top. Enjoy with cream or vanilla ice cream Life hasn't all been sewing and upholstery for me. As lots of people do, I have worn many hats over the years. I've worked in commercial kitchens, been a personal chef as and when needed, and yes, I did attend an online culinary school. Sadly that didn't last more than 6 weeks, despite getting very good grades on two parts of the early course the school decided I wasn't up to their standard. I am not one to give up on my passion and so have started a new channel to show you another side of me.
