Britain's Newest Railway Station! Brand new Inverness Airport station

A visit to the brand new Inverness Airport railway station filmed on the first day of public use. The original Inverness Airport station named Dalcross closed in 1965 and was a short distance from the site of the new station. The new station is on the Inverness to Aberdeen line between Inverness and Nairn. There is a frequent bus service linking the station with the airport terminal which operated by Stagecoach with a charge for intending passengers. There is also an uncovered well lit foot path on which passengers can take the 20 minute walk from the station to the terminal. The station is managed by Scotrail and is served by all trains in each direction. It has 2 bi directional platforms and a passing loop. There are waiting shelters, a ticket vending machine and lifts aswell as level access to the platforms. Outside the station there is a bus stop with shelter and a large car park with electric vehicle chargers and disabled parking. There is also ample bicycle storage on the platforms. The area around the station, and the services linking to and from it are still being developed. The station was officially opened by the SNP over 2 months late on Thursday 2nd February 2023 with passenger trains serving the station from Friday 3rd February 2023.
