~ travel diaries no. 6 ✈️ 2 WEEKS IN ISTANBUL!, TURKEY! Showing the EUROPEAN side vs ASIAN side of Istanbul 🇹🇷 If you're wondering what to do in on the European side vs the Asian side of Istanbul... or if you're wondering where to stay in Istanbul... this video might help! We stayed 4 days in the European side and more than a week on the Asian side. QUICK RECAP BELOW: The European Side definitely more touristy has all the tourist attractions such as: Taksim square, Istiklal street, Galata Tower, Sultanahmet, Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Grand Bazaar has Besiktas neighbourhood which we loved (good for breakfast and markets) - it is around a 20-30 minute walk from Taksim Square ACCOMMODATION: we stayed right next to in Petros Hotel, right next to Istiklal Street (note: it's noisy, right next to a club, the vibe felt touristy, bathroom not so clean, but great service and location) The Asian Side (Kadikoy specifically) a distinct artsy/indie vibe, feels less tourist-y and provides more of a somewhat local experience good food, cafes, restaurants, bars, shops (Moda area) - all close to each other generally cheaper I personally think it's better for longer-term stays / daily lifestyle, but not a lot of tourist attractions or bigger sights to see ACCOMMODATION: Tilas House No. 8. Very comfortable, cosy and clean! This was a shared house vibe - it had shared laundry facilities and kitchen but you get your own room and bathroom. Host was very communicative and helpful. Close 10 minute walk to the main area of Kadikoy, but far enough that it's not noisy. The only downside is that the room itself was a bit tight for space, so I recommend best for a few night stay. OTHER ACCOMMODATION: We also stayed in another accommodation not in this video (Kadikoy Studio Flat), which was in the middle of the Moda/main area of Kadikoy. Great location, right next to everything - i also highly recommend staying closer to the moda/main area of Kadikoy, but it can get noisy - each to their own :) So where should you stay? BOTH haha! If you're staying more than 3-4 days, definitely try to stay in both areas. The European side was for convenience and exploring tourist attractions, while the Asian side was for good and relaxing vibes, food and shopping (in my opinion). Keep note that, wherever you stay, each side is only a 15 minute ferry ride away - you can get a 3-time pass for 50 Turkish Lira (less than $5). -- I upload every Wednesday ♡ subscribe: https://bit.ly/33UPRvs socials: @adellecerna business email: adellecerna@gmail.com -- 0:00 European side of Istanbul 0:57 Besiktas 1:35 Taksim Square: Istiklal Street 3:36 Galata: Galata Tower, Galata Bridge 6:01 Sultanahmet: Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque 6:53 Ferry from Europe to Asia 7:24 Asian side of Istanbul 9:58 Exploring Kadikoy: Moda district, shopping, turkish coffee, food, bars 13:52 the longest outro ever -- #travel #turkey #istanbul #travelvlog 14 days in Istanbul, Turkey 🇹🇷 | European vs Asian Side, Things To Do, Staying in Kadikoy
