A towering mud volcano explosively erupted in Azerbaijan, sending a fireball more than 1,000 feet into the sky. Meanwhile, in the Azores the alert level was raised at a section of the Terceira volcano. And, in the Philippines, the Kanlaon volcano erupted again for the first time in nearly 3 weeks. Today's video will discuss these stories through the opinion and analysis of a geologist and list the 41 world volcanoes that are actively erupting. Note #1: No mud volcanoes erupted on Terceira. This video's thumbnail and title mention two different news stories; one in Azerbaijan (the mud volcano) and one in the Azores (Terceira, no mud volcano in that story). Note #2: This video's thumbnail image shows a prior photo of the erupting Sakurajima volcano in Japan.
