Modern warfare has grown to be synonymous with the deployment of asymmetric capabilities to offset technological advantages. In this constantly evolving environment, high-power microwave (HPM) weapons will play a vital role. Potential utilization of HPMs to protect large areas could have substantial implications in the fight against drones and other unmanned systems which have proven to be a significant threat against naval vessels, bases, and other installations reliant on limited defenses. There have also been promising advancements in offensive weapon systems capable of rendering adversarial electronic capabilities ineffective.
