46233 'Duchess of Sutherland' on "The Peak Forester" - 04/06/17

A blustery 4th June saw the Princess Royal Class Locomotive Trust’s Princess Coronation No. 46233 ‘Duchess of Sutherland’ work the Railway Touring Company’s “Peak Forester” railtour, from Ealing Broadway – Rowsley. Originally, B1 61306 ‘Mayflower’ was booked to haul the tour, however, due to her being at Carnforth for extensive maintenance, she was unavailable, therefore, 46233 was rostered onto the train. We see the tour in two locations. Firstly at a footbridge South of Arlesey station & secondly, at Langford, a couple miles further North. The first shot shows 46233 bounding along in the summer sunshine, making easy work of her 10 coach train. After passing the driver gives us a pop on the whistle before 57314 on the back hoots, once again, after passing. The second shot was slightly spoiled by the conditions & that the zoom on the Panasonic FZ82 wasn’t working, this was subsequently rectified. Although, the shot does feature a short blast on the whistle before the Duchess is seen rocketing away on the approach to Biggleswade. Filmed on a Panasonic TZ60 & Panasonic FZ82 Enjoy.
