9 Days on the Carnic High Trail, Alps (4K)

Calm Portrait of a nine day hiking trip on the long-distance trail "Karnischer Höhenweg" in the Carnic Alps, Austria and Italy. I planned the tour for my friends Annette, Timo, Thesi, Julian, Agi and me. ______________________________________ The weather was quite wet and cold for the time of year, last winter's snow stayed particularly long and the pandemic required some adjustments. Nevertheless, everyone agreed that the Carnic Alps offer a breathtaking and varied mountain landscape that we will certainly all visit again. The route shown here deviates, especially at the beginning, from the classic high-altitude trail, starting in Hermagor and leading to Sillian. ______________________________________ If you, understandably, wish to visit the shown places yourself, please do so safely. Be sure you are well prepared for a safe trip in an alpine enviroment. Preserve our nature by following the "Leave no trace"-principles and not flying drones. Act responsibly, even when others do not. While I understand the urge to camp in the wild, be aware that the alps in the heart of europe are a densly populated and heavily visited region. Please do not sleep outside the well established hut networks of the european alpine clubs.
