A selective comparison between the original black-and-white 1934 version of Cigars of the Pharaoh, the fourth Tintin adventure by Herge (Georges Remi), and the redrawn and coloured version of the same story from 1955. In this video I look at the sometimes confusing anachronisms in the 'modern' edition, including the introductions of Rastapopulous and Alan and references to earlier adventures, as well as a couple of more outlandish story elements that would soon disappear from the Tintin series of adventures. Starring my tattered childhood Methuen edition of Cigars of the Pharaoh, the Casterman hardcover facsimile edition, the Maharaja of Gaipajama, Senhor Oliveira de Figueira, Roberto Rastapopoulos, Fakirs, mummies, snakes and much much more. The English facsimile edition seems to be out of print, alas, but here's a Spanish edition on Amazon (affiliate link): https://amzn.to/3hOUD3K and in French: https://amzn.to/3dkxaUL Our Tintin facsimile edition mini-playlist: • Tintin Facsimile Editions and Edition-Comp...
