Mike is one of the world’s greatest technologists and business leaders. Mike founded Autonomy in 1996 at Cambridge University – he then went on to lead Autonomy as CEO for over fifteen years, during which time it became one of the UK’s most successful technology companies on the FTSE 100. Autonomy was acquired by HP for $11 billion in 2011. Soon after, Mike founded Invoke Capital which has invested in and launched a string of successful, disruptive tech companies including Sophia Genetics and cybersecurity company Darktrace, which launched in August 2013 and is now valued at £400m. Mike is regarded as one of the world’s most successful technology entrepreneurs and has won so many awards we can’t list them all, including; Computer Weekly’s ‘Most Influential Person of the Year’ and the Chartered Institute for IT’s award for Outstanding Contribution to IT in 2011. He was awarded an OBE for Services to Enterprise in 2006. Mike is a fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering, an honorary fellow of Christ’s College Cambridge and a non-executive director of the British Library. In addition to this, Mike is a scientific advisor to the UK Prime Minister.
