We took the Xiegu x6100 for its first maiden voyage out portable with the Elecraft AX1 antenna. ** The only way to know if something works for you is to get out and experiment with it yourself ** I've heard good and "not so" good reports from folks who have used the AX1 "compromised" antenna. My results of the AX1 and x6100 combination are that they worked very well together. Granted, not as well as a DiPole or other wire antennas, but good enough to get on the air with a small station foot print, compact, easy to carry and set up. Next adventure will be a POTA activation and some HT walk abouts.. All in all, we spent an hour videoing the process and making some calls.. It was a great day to be outside and spending time with the dog and a radio..
