Wye Valley Garden Railway ‘springs’ to life, with LNWR/LMS Prince of Wales & Claughton

First running session of Spring 2022, featuring 2 stunning handbuilt models of 1920s ex-LNWR locos resplendent in LMS crimson livery: Prince of Wales class 4-6-0 5663 ‘MINERVA’ Claughton class 4-6-0 5962 The ‘big spring clean’ getting the layout operational again after winter is pretty epic first session: cleaning hundreds of yards of track, replacing sections broken by animals / weather-ravaged, testing & replacing electrical connections, sorting out problematic points and derailment spots… but I was glad to get this test run in after the day’s restoration work, with these 2 stunning locos Kitbuilt and painted by model maker Larry Goddard. Acquired through the excellent Lord & Butler Models of Penarth Rd, Cardiff (highly recommend). Hopefully the other circuit will be up and running next weekend, and then I look forward to returning to regular updates / running sessions. Open to model feature requests!
